Greece’s most famous cosmopolitan island is Mykonos, a whitewashed paradise in the heart of the Cyclades. According to mythology, Mykonos was formed from the petrified bodies of giants killed by Hercules. And did you know that the island took its name from the grandson of Apollo, “Mykonos”?

Among the most Greek islands, Mykonos island is located almost in the center of the Cyclades complex. It is particularly famous for the cosmopolitan atmosphere, the exciting nightlife, the picturesque Cycladic architecture and the magnificent beaches that makes holidays in Mykonos a magnificent experience. There are many things to do in Mykonos Greece, an island perfect for people of all ages: walk along the narrow streets of Chora, see the sunset from Little Venice, stay in luxurious hotels and swim in exotic beaches.

As the largest island in the Cyclades, Naxos’s green and fertile landscape also mean that it is one of the most beautiful. Approaching the island in your boat will give you a fantastic view of its rugged scenery, verdant valleys and sweeping golden beaches that stretch for miles along the shore.

Lovers of the elusive ‘real Greece’ pretty much all agree that the island of Syros is a special place. The town of Hermoupolis is the capital of the Cyclades and one of the most architecturally fascinating ports in the Mediterranean, a living museum with some of the most beautiful 19th Century buildings in Greece.  It is also one of the most cosmopolitan towns in the Greek islands.

If you are looking for that perfect Greek island with a balance of beautiful beaches, low-key nightlife, white Cycladic villages, low-impact tourism and maybe the best food in the Cyclades, then look no further than Sifnos.

Serifos is a beautiful island of Western Cyclades, in a short ferry ride from Athens. Not much developed in tourism, Serifos island has kept its traditional character and the virgin landscape. Chora is the most picturesque spot in Serifos Greece, constructed on the slopes of a mountain and with fabulous view to the Aegean Sea. The most tourist places are Livadi and Livadakia, while the island has crystal beaches all around its coastline.

Paros in Greece is among the most popular islands of Cyclades. Located in the heart of the Aegean Sea, Paros island is ideal for young people, romantic couples and families, too. The Parian traditional villages, particularly Naoussa, Parikia and Lefkes, are perfect samples of Cycladic architecture, with whitewashed sugar houses, paved streets and blue-domed churches. The beaches are famous for the exotic water and the golden sand.

Ios Greece belongs to the Cycladic islands. It is particularly famous for the wonderful beaches, the picturesque village of Chora and certainly the intense nightlife that attracts mostly young crowds. Beach parties start in the midday and last till the early hours in Mylopotas, making it a popular place for teenagers and youth.

Santorini is considered the most breath-taking beautiful of all the Cycladic isles, and as soon as you approach this island from the unique vantage point that a boat offers, you will see why. The submerged crater just off the main island is a permanent reminder of one of the most cataclysmic volcanic eruptions in history; the legend of the lost city of Atlantis is said to have begun here.
